I had the best of intentions when I started my Blessings project, but life has most definitely got in the way. I am hoping to get back to things soon, but might I distract you with a few things I've been playing with in the interim?
I nearly always have a little bag with yarn in it. Crocheting or knitting keeps my hands busy in the downtime spent in waiting rooms and work breaks. I've been turning this:
into a Baktus scarf. It should be done soon, and I'll be sure to take a picture for you!

Square 1
Sunshine:
- The warmth that causes the earth to warm in Spring, and the seeds to sprout.
- The energy that allows plants to make their own food, which in turn allows us to obtain nourishment.
- Heat for our atmosphere, that causes the winds to blow and the clouds to form and the rain to fall.
- Comfort-giver to old-bones, dwellers in wintery climates, and cats...

Soon...
Well, I found some Osnaberg for the cloth. I plan on washing it tomorrow. Then to draw on the squares, I thought I would just use the pencil method that Amy described for the 39 Squares project. I think I'll be stitching the outlines as I go, that way some of the squares can creep into each other.
My stash of floss may see some additions before the project is over, but I'm going to try to make do with what I already have for the most part, just to save a bit of my financial resources. :)
I have drawn up a fairly full list of subjects for the squares, but I've not decided on a full forty. I wan to leave some room for inspiration and appreciation as I go...

Counting My Blessings
I've decided to participate in Counting My Blessings!
I was so inspired by 39 Squares that I began to wish I had participated in it. Thoughts began to sneak in that maybe I could do my own version of the stitchalong. I even started jotting down ideas for squares, and taking stock of what supplies I would need...Then came April 20th, when I learned I could vote on a new project - and my vote was cast for counting my blessings.
So now I'm making new plans with a bit of the old wrapped into them. I'm still going to do 40 squares. I turn 40 this year, and I wanted to mark that occasion somehow. And a lot of my blessings may end up the same as my other list. There may be lots of little things from nature and everyday life. I have learned in the last year just how precious every day can be and how little things that surround us can bring us joy. You'll be seeing a lot of those in my squares.
So I've gathered what I have at home. Now I need to go find some fabric to stitch them on...

Greetings
Welcome to my new craft blog!
I started using Blogger back in August of 2009. I created my photoblog, Crow Greetings, as a place for my nature photos, but I found my stitch projects making appearances from time to time. I thought about making longer posts there talking about the projects, but since I made that blog with the idea of letting the subject of the picture speak for itself, I hated to start expanding the posts.
So here it is: Crow Stitches - a place for me to show you what I'm working on, whether it be knitting, crocheting, or even embroidery or sewing. Please feel free to comment on the posts...it's good to know I have company out here on the 'Net!
